Tejaswini Sawant won Silver Medal in Women's 50 m Rifle Prone Finals

Tejaswini Sawant  finished second in the 50m Rifle Prone event on Day 8 at the Belmont Shooting Centre Gold Coast to get Silver Medal


She finished with the final score of 618.9, behind gold medal winner Martina Lindsay Veloso of Singapore - who bagged Games Record with her score of 621.0. Anjum, who was also participating in the same event, failed to recover from her poor start as she finished 16th in the overall 

Tejaswini had shot 102.1, 102.4, 103.3, 102.8, 103.7, 104.6, while Veloso shot 102.9, 102.7, 103.1, 104.3, 103.2 and 104.8 in six series. 

Tejaswini might not have participated in the 2018 Glasgow Games, the 2006 and 2010 editions has seen Tejaswini claim medals, including two gold in 2006.Ahead of her arrival at in Australia, Tejaswini had mentioned how important it was for her to forget the not-so-memorable performance at Rio Olympics and put in a good show at Gold Coast. “Not winning sometimes makes a huge difference. All the shooters are hungry and want to erase memories of the 2016 Olympic Games,”
